Well, it’s over. The season’s over, and I must say, our team finished strong!
And I’m also happy with how I finished. In fact, I’m ecstatic. The race was amazing. it was a tough, hilly course with 191 girls. I placed 142nd, which I’m happy with, but I wish I had placed higher.
But anyways, I felt good about this race. I went out strong, but not too hard. On every hill, I made it a goal to pass at least 2 girls, and I did. And I had enough strength left in me at the very end, that I passed 2 girls who were a good 30-40 meters ahead of me when we were running into the finish line. I passed one of them on the line, right there. It was amazing. I’ve posted pics.
So anyways, now that the season’s over, Coach is giving us a week off. Then we start training for track. And he’s promised us that he’s going to get us into the best shape of our lives…. WOOHOO!

You know those days where you just feel… blah?
I have names for those days and how I feel.
There are the flat days, where my legs are too tired to move right, and my feet just hit the pavement, flat and limp. Those are the flat days. It’s a feeling, though. I just feel flat. I feel like I have no dynamics. I’m just blah.
Then there are the fat days. There are those days where I feel like I gained 15 pounds just over the course of the day/night, and I’m suddenly lugging around a whole other person with me while I run.
Then there are the heavy days. Those are the absolute worst, to me. They’re a combination of both flat and fat days, and I just feel heavy all over, like dead weight. My legs feel like they’re carrying an extra 50 pounds, my legs don’t cooperate, and I just feel… heavy.
Today was a flat day.
